Kudos : Ang Lee's film sweeps Taiwan 'Oscars'!

Ang Lee did it again! This time in the Golden Horse awards in Taiwan with his film Caution. This movie is a war drama set in Japanese occupied Shanghai during World War 2 which narrates the fortunes of young woman (played by actress Tang Wei who also won a newcomer award)
embroiled in a plot to seduce an enemy collaborator.

Ang Lee won himself the Best director award and his film Caution won the the Best picture award. The hero of the film Tony Leung Chiu-wai won the Best Actor award too! The golden Horse Awards which is a annual affair here in Taiwan is also dubbed as the Chinese Language equivalent of the Academy Awards. The picture beside from BBC News shows Ang Lee with his two awards and actress Tang Wei with her award.

It is also worthwhile to mention here that Ang Lee is also the famous Taiwanese Oscar winner for the controversial film Brokeback Mountain (one of my favorite too!) which told us about the unorthodox complexity of a romantic and sexual relationship between two men in the American West from 1963 to 1983. Ang's other films includes Hulk and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Kudos to you again Ang Lee!!

ciao!
