Indians votes will still swings...

No matter Samy steps down or not!

K.P Samy, a former MIC central working committee (CWC) member declared that Samy Vellu has become a liability to the ruling coalition and further states that Samy Velu should immediately step down to avoid Indians votes swings to the opponents.

Malaysiakini got the K.P Samy's full interview.

Indian votes will swing unless...
RK Anand | Jan 30, 08 11:07am

Barisan Nasional (BN) risks losing Indian votes in the coming general election unless it employs drastic measures, warned a veteran MIC leader.

The first step in untangling this political quagmire is for party president S Samy Vellu to step down.

Without mincing his words, the former MIC central working committee (CWC) member declared that Samy Vellu has become a liability to the ruling coalition.

"Is one man more important than the community?" This is the question posed by KP Samy during an interview with Malaysiakini recently.

"If the government feels it needs the community and is concerned about the community, then please talk to this leader. Enough, he has already been there for 28 years."

"The Indians were loyal supporters of BN. The government could not question our sincerity, so why did the government leave us in the hands of this leadership?" he asked further.

While the Nov 25 rally - which drew some 30,000 Indian Malaysians to the streets - was organised by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf), Samy suggested that MIC also played a major role.

According to the Shah Bandaraya MIC branch chairperson, vexed Indian Malaysians swarmed the heart of Kuala Lumpur on that day because of the "total failure of the MIC leadership."

Samy, who is a strong supporter of the MIC president's ex-deputy turned political nemesis S Subramaniam, said: "Many Indians on the street feel that Samy Vellu has failed the community."

"We expected him to resign after Nov 25 by accepting that Indians came to the street because they were fed-up, frustrated and disappointed.

"Ninety percent of the people took to the streets because their expectations and requests were not fulfilled, the government gave us (aid) to a certain extent, but (this) never reached the poor," he added.

There are some truths in what K.P is trying to say but... STILL not very convincing! I mean if Samy Velu steps down and new leader took over M.I.C, will the welfare and the basic rights of the Indians or be it anyone in Malaysia will be taken care of in their rightful manner? Will there be no temples, 'surau' or churches be demolished ever? Will the new leader be able to creates the economic and educational opportunities to the Indians? I doubt that really because the new leader will be able to talk in the cabinet meeting only and then... Nothing!

As I can see, Indians do have some problems and that's why they came in numbers on the 25th November 2007 and show their displeasure openly to the government. Hindraf has just created a wave or a platform for the Indians to 'voice' out their pain! Most Indians who were there at that time knows that, be it Samy Velu or M.I.C would never help them out. Most of them also knows that M.I.C is just another 'boneka' in the ruling B.N coalitions. The puppet only dance, walk and talk when the Master pulls the string!

Indians... do you need a puppet, yet again and again? Do we need another 'rotten fish' in M.I.C?

The Last Photo... Maybe?

Election Time! According to Bernama news all cabinets minister are expected to take a group photograph in Putrajaya later today in what appears to indicate that the general election is imminent.

clipped from bernama.com.my

"It could be in a week's time, two weeks or even months later. If I am not mistaken, the last one (general election) in 2004, we had a group photo two weeks before the general election," he said.

A political analyst predicted that the election would be called immediately after Chinese New Year -- as early as Feb 13, based on the fact that number 13 is the favourite number of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

"His car (registration number) is No. 13. The last general election, in 2004, was also called on Wednesday, 3-3 (3rd March). Watch out for anything to do with the number three," he said.

V.K Lingam Part 3?.... Here comes the 'bullshitter'!

Today Anwar Ibrahim released 'third sequel' of the V.K Lingam video on his website. Dunno yet how many more of the "bullshitting and bragging" video sequels does Anwar had in his sleeve!

According to Anwar in Malaysiakini news, the latest clip gives additional evidence that the conspiracy currently being investigated by the royal commission extends beyond the attempt to fix the appointment of (former chief justice) Ahmad Fairuz (Sheikh Abdul Halim) to the Federal Court.

“This new segment directly implicates former chief justice Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah who allegedly received bribes from (senior lawyer) VK Lingam and (business tycoon) Vincent Tan,” he said in a statement.

Here goes the video transcript from Malaysiakini.....

Lingam video - another sequel
Jan 28, 08 12:54pm

Video transcript

His website also contained a transcript of the latest segment.

Lingam: The constitution judges said the constitution said, in the opinion of the prime minister he recommend. Who the prime minister recommend?

So you are Dzaiddin, you are chief justice, you recommend 10 names, I consent, I said I want these 15 names, can’t do anything. He recommend to rulers, rulers only consulted, not approve, only consult. You know?

[Voice off-camera]: Because if it goes up to the Court of Appeal…

Lingam: Now Dzaiddin wants to come through the PM because he wants his Tun-ship. So…he doing everything to please the PM lah, but he recommended five judges, three…three approved, which is Tun Eusoff Chin’s men, two not Eusoff Chin’s men which we objected. I prepared the report and rejected… but he wants to appeal again lah.

[Voice off-camera]: Can he appeal?

Lingam: He can appeal lah, but will be rejected lah.

[Voice off-camera]: I never know appointment can be rejected you know?

Lingam: No, recommendation can be rejected. The PM shall recommend so and so, after consulting so and so. So, PM suppose to consult Loh Mui Fah before he recommends. So Loh Mui Fah recommend 10 names, he in fact can say I disagree with your 10 names, I recommend Gurm…Lingam and so and so. Nothing you can do. You are only…you are supposed to be consulted, not to be approved. You see the point or not? The constitution said consult. I suppose to consult my father before I marry, I consulted him, he disagreed but still I married!

[Voice off-camera]: Because that is not final, ah.

Lingam: Right, consult is to discuss. That’s all. But if I must get my father’s approval before married, then different. Approval different from consult.

[Voice off-camera]: So, who is the lord president now?

Lingam: Now chief justice Dzaiddin.

[Voice off-camera]: Dzaiddin…

Lingam: But between you and me. We have taken Dzaiddin for dinner three times.

[Voice off-camera]: Three times already.

Lingam: And we have given him the most expensive gift. Don’t ask about it lah. I have given him and Vincent Tan has given him. So, he also cannot attack us. Tomorrow we go say we give you this, this, this. He cannot go and say you are a agent. Correct or not? So, he is neither here nor there lah. That’s all.

[Voice off-camera]: But… Chief Justice..

Lingam: But in the court when I argue with him. He said, Datuk Lingam you said you will take one hour. I said, my Lord, it is only 50 minutes, I got another 10 minutes. But…I appreciate. Thank you, thank you… He is very nice with me, very polite with me. I have been sending cakes every Hari Raya. Vincent has been sending. He can’t go and say he is very clean, correct or not?

[Voice off-camera]: But then he is…

Lingam: But he is playing his game lah. He got the job, that’s it. Now, September he is finished that’s all. Make sure he is not extended.

[Voice off-camera]: But, he may ask for extension.

Lingam: He is hoping… he told somebody that he likes the job very much. Then he likes…Let him dream lah.

[Voice off-camera]: Above him is the Lord President?

Lingam: He is the number one man, Dzaiddin.

[Voice off-camera]: Whose the Lord President?

Lingam: He is called… those days called lord president, now called chief justice, federal court.

[Voice off-camera]: Oh… it is the same title.

Lingam: Number two President Court of Appeal, that Wan Adnan, my personal friend. He was sick. Nobody knows he is close to me. Right, in fact, he never knew his name is going up until I told him. Then number three, Ahmad Fairuz, Chief Judge Malaya. Ahmad Fairuz is going to be acting, now acting…number two. Right?

So, next minute, even Raja Aziz said he is going to be the next top job. He is…definitely number one lah.

So, he told me I leave it all to you and you must help me and all…I said I’ll arrange for you to meet Tengku Adnan, Vincent and meet with PM lah…

But this bugger is sometimes a bit scared. Ah…I must play shadow from the behind. Nobody should know I know you. Then you can help more. But people, see you know more, like Eusoff Chin, because I met him in New Zealand, became a problem. But if I didn’t meet him in New Zealand, it’s a… no problem.

Correct or not? Unfortunate.

[Voice off-camera]: Then, in your…then they said you have taken photograph with him holidaying in…huh…huh…

Lingam: But unfortunately, I didn’t know. The worst thing I didn’t know Eusoff Chin put his hand like that! Alamak…so…I also didn’t know about it. What to do? [Voice off-camera]: Then… then…

Lingam: Do you know, today one o’clock, Eusoff Chin having lunch in his house today. Hari Raya today. He called me and my wife to come. I told him we don’t go today, we make it another day. I don’t come but my wife and children will come. You know or not?
I told my wife to call…[unclear]…

[phone rings]

Lingam: Hello…Joe Ah…!

In a related news, Lingam did came up with a stunner today when he accused senior lawyer Robert Lazar of seeking his help to be appointed as an appellate court judge in early 2000.

Lingam: I guess this person was desperate to go on the Bench. He wants to be directly on the Court of Appeal like Justice (Gopal) Sri Ram. He doesn’t want to be a JC (judicial commissioner) or a judge. He told me that if he approaches Tun Mohd Eusoff Chin (chief justice at the time), he will have to start as JC or a judge. He said there is a precedent set for direct elevation to the Court of Appeal (in Gopal’s case).
I was doing Mirzan Mahathir’s case, (and) he was representing the Star paper in the argument in the Court of Appeal. He appeared for the opposite side and his name is Robert Lazar (photo) from Shearn Delamore & Co. After the case, we went for a drink and he said, ‘You are the man who can help me’ and he put up a page why I should help him. I told him I don’t know Tun Dr Mahathir (Mohamad, the then premier). He said the son (Mirzan) will do, ‘All you need to do is to talk to the son’.
Lingam’s statement caused Ranjit to pause. The lawyer then asked Lingam when the alleged incident took place, to which he replied that it was in early 2000.

So after all, V.K Lingam is not just anybody in Malaysia. We all know that he's a "bullshitter" already and he used to brag about 'speaking to President Bush' in his own 'castle' because he's 'king'... bla.. bla.. But... still he's someone that you can ask for a favor if you want to be court judge. Anyone interested?

"Itu memang salah dia... salah emak bapa dia..."

'It's her fault.. Her parent's fault' was the answer given by a woman cop when she was told by Harakah reporters, that the number of police force used to crackdown the protesters in front of KLCC last evening were instead mobilised to find the 'missing kid' Sharlinie Mohd Nashar then at least she would be back home by now! Harakah Daily got the news here.

What the *Fcuk* is that about? I can't understand a cop would respond in such an irresponsible way and that too to the press. Wonderful Malaysia! Don't tell me, that after this they're gonna arrest and sue Sharlinie's parents for negligence too! I feel sorry for the parents of Sharlinie and what they have gone thru their hearts since the lost of their children.

Malaysiakini has the news and even their reporter Syed Jamal Zahiid is also among those nabbed by the cops!

Crackdown at KLCC: Dozens picked up
Fauwaz Abdul Aziz | Jan 26, 08 2:04pm

More than two dozen individuals have been detained by the police near the Kuala Lumpur City Centre ahead of a protest against price hikes organised by the Coalition Against Inflation (Protes).

At about 2.45pm, seven PAS’ party volunteers, including one woman, were picked up outside the KLCC Jalan Ampang entrance and brought to the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters for questioning.

Almost simultaneously, near the Ampang Park LRT station, another five women and three men were also detained in connection with the rally.

Malaysiakini
reporter Syed Jamal Zahiid was also picked up. He was detained while questioning a police officer over several arrests near the Ampang Park area.

Malaysiakini office has contacted Dang Wangi OCPD Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman to vouch for the identity of Syed Jamal who then assured that the journalist would be released after giving his statement.

No more One Against One?

'It sounds like and looks like' DAP and PKR is not going to settle down in Ipoh Timur constitution currently held by Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang in coming General Election. 'Three way' battle is now unavoidable between DAP, PKR and BN according to Malaysiakini news. DAP also launched its election mascot, ‘Rocket Kid’, at its party headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

Three-way battle for Ipoh Timur?
Syed Jaymal Zahiid | Jan 25, 08 7:38pm

Not surprisingly, DAP and PKR are at it again. This is a repeat of 2004 where the parties haggled over the right to contest Ipoh Timur, now held by Opposition Leader and DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang.

Again, the Chinese-majority seat in Perak is a ‘thorn’ in the negotiations between the two opposition allies for the upcoming general election. Key leaders openly locked horns over the right to contest the ‘winnable’ seat of Ipoh Timur today.

PKR veep Dr Lee Boon Chye (photo) told Malaysiakini today that “if his party and DAP are unable to reach a compromise on seat allocation in Perak, then we are prepared for three-cornered fights, including in Ipoh Timur”.

“If there is no settlement, it’s a free for all scenario. PKR is free to contest any seat in the state even if it means slugging it out against DAP and BN,” Lee declared.

Guan Eng: We are ready

In an immediate response, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng blared, “If PKR wants to contest in Ipoh Timur, then we say it is a democratic country and they have every right to do so. But we are prepared to face them".

Asked the reason for the stalemate, Guan Eng would only say that DAP has done its best to accommodate the needs of both sides.

"We are currently waiting for PKR to give their response to our proposals regarding the seat allocations and hope that it can be finalised before Chinese New Year," he added.

Meanwhile, DAP launched its election mascot, ‘Rocket Kid’, at its party headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

“The mascot targets the younger generation and it symbolises friendliness and a hope for a better Malaysia.

“This mascot is a signal to the younger generation. We want them to join us in our struggle to create a better future for our country,” said Guan Eng.

Hmm.. Now 'siapa kacau daun siapa?' & Who's really going to benefit from this clash between DAP and PKR?

'Drunken' Lingam's Commission of Inquiry?

Correct! Correct! Correct! For me personally 'it sounds like and looks like' Lingam's Commission of Inquiry rather than Royal Commission of Inquiry. You will know what I'm 'bullshitting and bragging' about if you read Malaysiakini here. Here are some of Lingam's 'quotable quotes' today at the RCI.

Q&A: 'I didn't say it was not me'
Beh Lih Yi | Jan 24, 08 9:23pm

Ranjit: You said you talk rubbish when you drink too much. Knowing that, why did you still talk on the judges’ appointment?

Lingam: That was in my house. That was in the privacy of my room. My house is my castle. I am the king there. I can talk whatever rubbish in my house as long as I don’t get drunk outside and misbehave.

Ranjit: Why did you choose the topic of judges’ appointment in the presence of (businessman) Loh Mui Fah?

Lingam: I can choose whatever topic I like. I can even pretend to talk to President Bush if I like.

Ranjit: Why did you tell Loh Mui Fah that you were talking to Ahmad Fairuz (Sheikh Abdul Halim, then chief judge of Malaya)?

Lingam: I don’t recollect I said that but even if I did say it, I am sorry to use the word, I was bullshitting and bragging.

Ranjit: Are you suggesting that you were also bullshitting and bragging in the transcript (of the phone conversation) too?

Lingam: It could be bragging, it could be bullshitting.

Ranjit: Are you relying on the photos to say that you were slightly intoxicated?

Lingam: With (the late lawyer) Manjit (Singh) in the photo, it looks like there were 7-Ups, two bottles of wine, two boxes of whisky, a whisky bottle - that is quite a lot to drink for two, three people for that night.

Ranjit: When you say ‘it looks like’, are you saying it was not real alcohol?

Lingam: As I see it, there were wine bottles and I was seen sipping it from my glass and drinking the wine.

(Ranjit then said he had completed the questioning. Commission chief Haidar Mohd Noor sought clarification from Lingam at this juncture).

Haidar: We have two witnesses Loh Mui Fah and his son (Gwo Burne) (photo, below) who have come forward and testified that it was you (in the clip). Why would they want to come forward (if it was not you)? Can you suggest a reason?

Lingam: I can’t think of a reason.

Haidar: You said they are your social friends. Why would they suddenly go against you?

Lingam: Can I say something Tan Sri (Haidar)? If they believe the clip is true, they wouldn’t have kept it for six years. They would have gone to the ACA (Anti-Corruption Agency) and the police and said, ‘Charge him, investigate’. But they have kept it for six, seven years.

Haidar: Alright, alright, alright...

(Mui Fah’s lawyer Americk Singh Sidhu, then posed a few brief questions to Lingam after which commissioner Mahadev Shankar sought clarification from Lingam).

Mahadev: You don’t dispute the person in the (two) photos (taken by Gwo Burne) is you?

Lingam: I don’t dispute that.

Mahadev: But when it comes to the video taken at the same occasion, you said the person ‘might not be me, it could be me and it could be somebody else...’

Lingam: No, no, no, my learned commissioner you didn’t get me right. I said it looks like me, it sounds like me. I didn’t say it was not me. I don’t want to say it’s 100 percent me because the authenticity of the clip has to be established by my two experts first.

Mahadev: So how many percent looks like you? (Laughter around the room)

Lingam: I don’t want to get into a mathematical debate with my learned commissioner. My experts said the report by the local experts is fundamentally flawed and it’s defective. Let my experts first be called. I am not denying it’s me. If my experts said it’s 100 percent me, I will be the first one to say it.

Haidar: We have an expert’s report and two witnesses here who gave direct evidence (related to the recording of the video).

Lingam: I am not saying it’s not me, please don’t get me wrong. I said it looks like me, it sounds like me. There should be no dispute. I make myself very clear.
I can't believe this SHIT! I mean this guy is really talented. He's just 'talking cock' there all this while and nothing.. I mean really nothing can be done at all! This is the best I've heard from Lingam so far...

'I can choose whatever topic I like. I can even pretend to talk to President Bush if I like.'

God (I hope he's listening) ... Please save the Judiciary!

When I'm drunk... I do talk Nonsense!

That's a confession or should I say another revelation by Lingam to the Royal Commission.

Malaysiakini got the news here

Lingam: Kawan kata dia suka cakap
mengarut bila minum
Jan 21, 08 6:56pm

So guys, what's the verdict now? If Lingam was indeed drunk then eventually he became so intoxicated with it then surely.. I mean surely the man who 'looks like him and sounds like him' in the video tape must a Mad.. mad guy talking over the phone with some unknown guy whose name is not Ahmad Fairuz!

“I don’t know who I was speaking to but certainly I wasn’t speaking to Tun Ahmad Fairuz because I never had his telephone number and he never had my telephone number either,”

Hmm.. Do we need a Royal Commission of Inquiry now.. for investigate this kinda crap? Nah!

Drunken Man Talks!

Star witness Lingam takes the stand

Malaysiakini today reported, the most popular lawyer in Malaysia took a stand at 12.30pm as the 13th witness at the royal commission tasked to investigate the tape. Lingam did told the commission that he knew both tycoon Vincent Tan and his business partner, Tourism Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. He said his law firm is one of Tan's Berjaya Group panel lawyer and had also done personal legal work for the tycoon since 1991.

Lingam also said that he knew Tengku Adnan since 1990 when he was the executive director of Berjaya Group. Whether or not he is drunken and mad, you guys judge yourself.

'It looks like me, it sounds like me'

However, he said Loh Mui Fah - the businessman whose son recorded the video during the dinner seven years ago - was never his client.

“He has never been my client. I can establish that. But his father was a client once. To the best of my recollection, I have not done legal work for him or acted as his lawyer at any time.” Lingam was then shown the full video clip. When asked whether he was the man in the video, he said: "It looks like me, it sounds like me." Deputy public prosecutor Nordin Hassan then reminded Lingam that previous witnesses had testified that it was him in the video.
"No matter what people, my answer is still the same - it looks like me, it sounds like me."
He said he would not go beyond this until the original video clip is produced.
"I have consulted my experts, and the only way to determine the truth is to examine the equipment that took the video and the original tape."

blog it
However, Lingam or err .. (the man who looks and sounds like Lingam) denied that it was Ahmad Fairuz that he was talking to on the other end. Lingam came out with another revelation indeed!

“I don’t know who I was speaking to but certainly I wasn’t speaking to Ahmad Fairuz because I never had his mobile number and he didn’t have mine either.”

Lol! If I was Deputy public prosecutor Nordin Hassan, I wish to ask Lingam this "Are you drunk and mad, Lingam?" What will be Lingam's answer? Look no further.

"Correct! Correct! Correct!"

Samy, Thaipusam and General Elections...

Uncle Samy was indeed in jolly good mood when he was attending to the mammoth M.I.C gathering at Cheras Badminton Stadium. Bernama has the story of the 21,000 people and their support for M.I.C here. I did not attend the gathering because was busy watching Australian Open.

Indians Will Once Again Back BN In Polls, Says Samy Vellu

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu today declared in the presence of the Prime Minister and over 21,000 party members and supporters that the MIC is more than ready to face the upcoming general election.

An upbeat Samy Vellu also pledged to deliver the Indian votes to the Barisan Nasional (BN).
Samy Vellu said he had been criss-crossing the country recently, holding gatherings with MIC members, community leaders and interested groups, and "the mood is very favourable to us (BN)".

In a related news, Thaipusam celebration is to be declared a National Holiday pending Cabinet approval said the Malaysian Premier.

clipped from bernama.com.my

Samy Vellu said the MIC has been asking for Thaipusam be declared a public holiday for more than a decade "but now we are confident our request will be fulfilled".

He said Thaipusam is currently a holiday in five states, namely Selangor, Penang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Johor.

"More than 1.2 million Hindus converge at Batu Caves every year for Thaipusam from all over the country. As such, it will be good if Thaipusam is declared a national public holiday," Samy Vellu said.

Samy Vellu said he raised the matter with the Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique at the last Cabinet meeting to have Thaipusam declared a public holiday at least in Kuala Lumpur.

"I will raise it again at the next Cabinet meeting," he added.

But.. but, why only now? I mean, Uncle Samy were asking for it for almost a decade in the Cabinet and nobody cares to about it. Is it so? Now to whom the credit will eventually goes to? Is it to M.I.C and Samy or those 5 with the name start with the letter 'H' ? Did uncle Samy asked only for the Thaipusam to be declared as National Holiday in the past decade? What about 2 days off for Deepavali as how it is with Hari Raya and Chinese New Year? Will it happen too in future as the General Elections is just around the corner?

BTW, talking about General Elections, Malaysiakini has the headline of Umno leaders barred from leaving country to prepare for the upcoming polls. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s statement on Thursday that the general election might be held before the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) summit in Senegal, mid-March.

Umno leaders barred from leaving country

In yet another obvious sign that snap polls would be called soon, Umno has barred all its party office bearers from leaving the country to prepare for the upcoming polls.

The matter was conveyed to all 191 party divisions nationwide via a circular issued by Umno secretary-general Radzi Sheikh Ahmad yesterday.

“Party leaders - at the state, division and branch levels - are urged to ensure that all Umno members are not allowed to leave the country during this period.

“If they want to conduct courses before the general election, do it in the country,” Radzi told Utusan Malaysia yesterday when asked on the matter.

Smart Man Gives Smart Answers.... & Someone is drunk and mad too!

Dr M: I don't have to explain why
Fauwaz Abdul Aziz | Jan 17, 08 5:44pm

In an answer to a question from Anti-Corruption Agency chief prosecuting officer Nordin Hassan whether he was influenced by any party in the appointment of Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim as chief justice of Malaya, Court of Appeal president and chief justice - the judiciary's top three posts - Mahathir spoke only vaguely of gathering views and opinions from several quarters.

“In any approval (of a judicial appointment), I would hear people speak - even though I don’t ask - their views, at social meetings. I take these into consideration, but the decisions are my own,” said Mahathir, who was dressed in a dark grey jacket and sea-blue tie.

“I don’t have to tell anyone as to why I made those decisions,” he said.

Mahathir, who appeared calm and smiled at times, said the reasons for his decision was “something I don't tell people”.

When pressed for further clarification, the former premier quickly added that he could not remember or recall.

That's how Dr. Mahathir gave his witness testimony at the royal commission of inquiry to investigate the VK Lingam. In my book, Dr. M is still one of the most intelligent and shrewed politicians ever lived in this world. Don't you think so?

And BTW, Malaysiakini also has the story of someone being drunk and mad too!

Adnan: Lingam either mad or drunk
Chua Sue-Ann | Jan 17, 08 4:35pm

Senior lawyer VK Lingam must have been "mad or drunk", said Tourism Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in denying any involvement in the appointment of judges as suggested in the VK Lingam tape.

Tengku Adnan was the 10th witness appearing before the royal commission tasked with probing the controversial video exposed by opposition party PKR last September.

In the grainy 14-minute clip, recorded in late 2001, Lingam had mentioned Tengku Adnan’s name 11 times.

The lawyer, who was purportedly talking to former chief justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim, had suggested that Tengku Adnan, who was then a deputy minister in the prime minister’s department, could flex his influence on former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad on the appointment of ‘friendly’ judges.

When commissioner Mahadev Shankar asked the minister why he had not called up Lingam after viewing the clip to clear his name, Tengku Adnan said he did not think it was necessary.

“I think the man (Lingam) is either mad or drunk. I didn’t bother to call him. It must be untrue,” said the minister who appeared to be peeved by the question.

Correct! Correct! Correct!
According to Tengku Adnan
that his relationship with business tycoon Vincent Tan and Lingam was strictly business but could not recall their business tie-ups. You see it's only business okay! The man who 'looks like and sounds like Lingam' in the video tape is certainly drunk and mad. What you guys think?

Full news here at harakah daily.

So what is P.A.S gonna say about this? Boycott the Microsoft Office and the Internet? I mean what wrong with this guy here. I have heard about a lot of great Muslim personalities like Rumi, Bayazid, Junaid, Rabia al-Basri and of course the great Prophet (pbuh) himself. All of them are such great personalities who makes me feel really amused and perplexed by their display of faith and obedience towards the Creator. I have a lot of admirations for Islam and such great people's. But these chap here by the name of Hamba Allah really make me shiver and fear of Islam! Sorry to my Muslim friend's who reads this. I don't mean to offend you guys!

BTW, I raised this issue because in my constituency here at Tambun, PAS is the only opposition to vote for against UMNO. So can I safely vote for PAS in coming G.E and feel really secured for having these kind of followers in PAS? It is much worst than what is now.... I mean it! Anyway there is a good discussion going on about this at the myAsylum blog. Read it here..

Mahathir & Anwar : Face to face?

Malaysiakini reports that Tun Dr Mahathir will appear in court later today to face questions from the royal commission tasked to investigate the VK Lingam tape.

Sufi Yusof, Mahathir's aide confirmed that the former P.M will be there to face the commission. Mahathir's presence in court tomorrow would probably opens up a a prospect of him meeting his former 'anak emas', the PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim. Wow! It's like Federer Vs Sampras in the Wimbledon really.

Will both of them hug each other? Will there be tears around both pairs of
eyes when met together? Am I asking too much, here? Personally speaking, I really love both these men and would love to see them shook their hands at least.

ciao!

Mahathir to meet Anwar?

Mahathir’s present in court tomorrow opens up the tantalising possibility of a chance meeting between the former strongman and his protege-turned-foe, ex-deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar, who is de facto PKR leader, is also scheduled to appear for questioning together with his political coordinator Sim TzeTzin and party vice-president R Sivarasa.

It is unclear exactly when the two former leaders would be called to testify in the day-long hearing. Anwar, who appeared briefly outside the courtroom on Monday, was not present today.
All witnesses who have been called to testify are not allowed to go into the courtroom.

Mahathir and Anwar has not had a public meeting since the latter was sacked in 1998 and charged with corruption and sodomy two years later.

Truly Malaysia?

In Bolehland nothing is impossible! That's how I describe it when read this new and latest development of Hindraf via Malaysiakini

Friend turn out to be foe? Lot has been said in the past about Hindraf and their terrorism activity but thus far not yet a concrete proof furnish by the IGP. Recently in India, the so called Indian Saviour taste his own medicine trying to explain to Indian and Tamil Nadu government about the current happening of Indians in Malaysia.

Police report against Uthaya over fund abuse
Syed Jaymal Zahiid | Jan 14, 08 4:08pm
A police report has been lodged against Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) legal adviser P Uthayakumar by the movement’s secretary T Vasanthakumar over allegations of misuse of funds.
Both Uthayakumar (left) and Vasanthakumar are being detained under the Internal Security Act along with three other Hindraf legal advisers at the Kamunting detention centre in Perak

It is learnt that, in the police report which was lodged at the detention centre on Thursday, Vasanthakumar has accused Uthayakumar of allegedly misusing money collected from the public for Hindraf activities.

Uthayakumar’s lawyer N Surendran, when contacted, said that the police report and accusation thrown against his client should not be taken seriously.

“Vasanthakumar (photo) had lodged the police report under detention and given the circumstances, his accusations cannot be taken seriously as it has no credentials or credibility,” he said by phone.

Explaining, Surendran said that “Vasanthakumar could have been manipulated by the authorities to lodge the police report after being subjected to severe stress”.

Part of the government conspiracy

Surendran also associated Vasanthakumar’s accusations with previous government efforts to discredit Hindraf through similar claims.

“As we all know, Hindraf has been accused by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Musa Hasan of collecting funds from the public to supposedly finance activities of a terrorist organisation abroad," he said.

“And yet he has not come out with any evidence to support his claim. I believe this is a clear effort by the authorities to discredit and weaken the support for Hindraf."

The IGP on Dec 6 last year had accused Hindraf of soliciting support and financial aid from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a Sri Lankan Tamil fundementalist terrorist organisation.

Another conspiracy blooming here? Why only now Vasantha came out with this allegation of fund mismanagement? Or is this what they called torture and abuse designed to humiliate and frighten detainees into revealing their weaknesses and breaking down their defences until the detainees compromises the situation 'ikut suka aku'? I smell fish here.. BIG FISH ! You??

The bad news is, I could not understand a single damn thing about what the report says except the basic cause of her death is due to open head injury with depressed skull fracture, leading to Cardiopulmonary arrest. Come on... don't ask me what is Cardiopulmonary?! Maybe got something to do with the heart stop beating la... Bear with my stupidity, Please OK!
BTW, got this stuff from here...

Relaxing... In the way of Rumi!

I just stumbled upon this very beautiful poem of Rumi..

The Many Wines..

God has given us a dark wine so potent that,
drinking it, we leave the two worlds.

God has put into the form of hashish a power
to deliver the taster from self-consciousness.

God has made sleep so
that it erases every thought.

God made Majnun love Layla so much that
just her dog would cause confusion in him.

There are thousands of wines
that can take over our minds.

Don't think all ecstacies
are the same!

Jesus was lost in his love for God.
His donkey was drunk with barley.

Drink from the presence of saints,
not from those other jars.

Every object, every being,
is a jar full of delight.

Be a conoisseur,
and taste with caution.

Any wine will get you high.
Judge like a king, and choose the purest,

the ones unadulterated with fear,
or some urgency about "what's needed."

Drink the wine that moves you
as a camel moves when it's been untied,

and is just ambling about.

Mathnawi IV, 2683-96
The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks

What a wonderful way of spending Saturday evening with Rumi's unconditional, universal love and divine ecstasy! A little bit about Rumi which I've taken from the book tittled Discourses of Rumi or Fihi Ma Fihi (It is What It Is) is posted below. On 06-09-2007, a day of commemoration is organized at UNESCO to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the birth of Rumi, one of the greatest poets, philosophers and scholars of the eastern civilization.

Recognized as perhaps the greatest mystical poet of Islam, Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273) communicated something through his writing that has attracted spiritual seekers from almost every religion in the world, for hundreds of years. Even in his day, Rumi was sought out by merchants and kings, devout worshippers and rebellious seekers, famous scholars and common peasants, men and women. At his funeral, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Arabs, Persians, Turks and
Romans honored him. Listen to his call for seekers of truth:

Come, come, whoever you are.

Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.

It doesn’t matter.

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

Come, even if you have broken your vow

a hundred times.

Come, yet again, come, come.

Rumi’s love and honor for all religious traditions was not always popular in his day, and often provoked criticism from the more dogmatic. A story is told that one such public challenge came from a Muslim dignitary, Qonavi, who confronted Rumi before an audience. “You claim to be at one with 72 religious sects,” said Qonavi, “but the Jews cannot agree with the Christians, and the Christians cannot agree with Muslims. If they cannot agree with each other, how could you agree with them all?” To this Rumi answered, “Yes, you are right, I agree with you too.”

Although kings were his followers, Rumi’s critics could never understand why Rumi’s greatest
love and dedication went to what they called, “the tailors, the cloth-sellers, and the petty shopkeepers - uncouth and uncultured ruffians.” Yet even amongst these, his dearest companions, Rumi allowed no vanity.

The story is told that one day, while Rumi was in deep contemplation, surrounded by his disciples, a drunkard walked in shouting and stumbling. The man staggered toward Rumi, and then fell on him. To Rumi’s followers such a disgrace of their teacher was intolerable, and they rose as one to rush the ignorant fool. Rumi stopped them with his raised hand, saying, “I thought this intruder was the one who was intoxicated, but now I see it is not he, but my own students who are drunk!”

There are thousands who believe that Rumi’s presence (baraka) still exists today, and still teaches. If this is true, it is certainly largely due to the remarkable vitality that can be found in his writings and poetry, and a relevancy they contain that reaches to our inner core. Rumi’s poetry has captured the hearts of spiritual seekers around the world because of its depth and beauty. His verses sketch out the whole panorama of life, from human sorrow and devotion, to the universal breadth of God’s hidden plan. His poetry seems fathomless and endless.

Rumi has also left to us another manuscript that is not so well known - the collection of discourses given at the gatherings with his students. It Is What It Is (Fihi ma Fihi) is a record of these spiritual discussions that often followed music and dance, the reciting of sacred poems and phrases, and the now famous Whirling Dervish exercise that Rumi originated to enliven and bring spiritual opening to the rather somber people of Konya, Turkey, in his day.

For all those spiritual seekers out there, Rumi says ' Come, come, whoever you are, Ours is not a caravan of despair'

ciao!
